Fire Suppression Construct & Unofficial Mascot

Burn-E is Neverwood Academy’s dedicated fire suppression construct, tasked with preventing, detecting, and extinguishing fires across campus. Smaller, faster, and significantly more personable than his counterpart Brik-E, Burn-E has become a beloved figure among both students and staff—serving as both a safety mechanism and an accidental symbol of school spirit.

Function and Design

Burn-E is a compact, wheeled construct equipped with a wide array of fire-suppression tools, including alchemical foam sprayers, water conjuration nozzles, and arcane dampening fields designed to neutralize magical flames. His chassis is built for speed and manoeuvrability, allowing him to rapidly respond to hazards in even the most confined or crowded spaces.
He is also programmed to maintain and repair the academy’s magical fireproofing systems, routinely reinforcing wards and enchantments that prevent fires from spreading.

Relationship with Brik-E

Burn-E is often found trailing behind Brik-E, particularly in high-risk construction zones such as the ongoing restoration of Kollema Hall. While Brik-E builds, Burn-E follows—extinguishing sparks, correcting overheating components, and repairing damage caused by Brik-E’s more… enthusiastic methods.
The two constructs operate in a kind of unspoken partnership, though Burn-E’s interventions are frequent enough that students often joke he is “cleaning up after his brother.” Whether this relationship is intentional design or emergent behaviour remains unclear.

Personality and Campus Presence

Burn-E displays a far more expressive personality than Brik-E, frequently engaging with students through gestures, whistles, and short bursts of modulated sound. He has become known for:

• Playfully spraying small bursts of water at students who linger too close to hazardous areas
• “Patrolling” dormitories and common areas even when no threat is present
• Responding dramatically to even the smallest flame, treating candles and cooking fires with equal urgency
  His friendly demeanour, combined with his constant visibility, has made him something of a campus mascot.

Cultural Impact

Burn-E’s popularity reached its peak following his unexpected starring role in the Hellhound Gang’s rock opera, “Weekend at Burn-E’s.” The production, equal parts comedy and chaos, cemented his place in student culture and further blurred the line between functional construct and beloved personality.
Despite his fame, Burn-E remains wholly dedicated to his purpose. Whether extinguishing a major blaze or dousing a single spark, he performs every task with the same unwavering enthusiasm—ensuring that, no matter what Brik-E builds, it won’t burn down again.
