History

Phandalin was originally part of the ancient settlement of Phandelver, which prospered through mining and trade alliances between humans, dwarves, and gnomes.
The original settlement was destroyed centuries ago by orcs and monsters. In recent years, settlers rebuilt the town, and the rediscovery of Wave Echo Cave brought renewed prosperity.
By the early 1500s DR, Phandalin has become a growing frontier community balancing opportunity with constant danger.

Government

Phandalin has no formal noble ruler. The town is overseen by local officials and influential townsfolk, particularly the Townmaster.
