Student Skills System
Student Skill Points
Student Skill Points represent a character’s long-term development outside of standard class progression.
They are earned through:
- Academic performance
- Guild participation
- Clubs and extracurricular involvement
- Jobs and real-world experience
Skill Categories
Student Skill Points are invested into one of five learning styles:
- Studied Learning – academic focus, lectures, homework
- Applied Learning – hands-on practice, exams, experimentation
- Extracurriculars – clubs, sports, and non-academic growth
- Jobs – part-time work and income experience
- Popularity – social influence and relationships
Student Skill Perks
Once a character has 3 or more points in a category, they unlock the associated perk:
Studied Learning
You are devoted to academic study and written work.
- You may complete one homework assignment between classes, roll with advantage
Applied Learning
You learn best through doing and repetition.
- You begin each exam with one reroll available
Extracurriculars
You thrive outside the classroom in clubs and activities.
- Your Student Die from Extracurriculars increases in size per Extracurriculars Skill Point (e.g. 1d4 → 1d6 → 1d8)
- You gain one additional Student Die source per week (from clubs/extracurricular involvement)
Jobs
Your work ethic is recognised and rewarded.
- You are offered higher-paying positions
- You earn **+1 gold per Job Skill Point per tenday of work
Popularity
Your social presence shapes how others treat you.
- Friendship thresholds are lowered by 2 per point above 2
- Rival thresholds are increased by 2 per point above 2
Example: Popularity 4 shifts thresholds to 6 (friendship) and -14 (rivalry)
