Description
Mithral Hall is one of the most famous and wealthy dwarven strongholds in Faerûn, located beneath the Spine of the World in The North. Renowned for its immense wealth, master craftsmanship, and deep cultural significance, it stands as a symbol of dwarven resilience and reclamation.
Originally founded by the Shield Dwarves of clan Battlehammer, Mithral Hall was lost for centuries before being reclaimed in the 14th century DR. Since its restoration, it has once again become a centre of dwarven power, trade, and military strength in the North.

History
Founding and Early Days
Mithral Hall was founded in ancient times by the Battlehammer clan, who discovered vast veins of mithral within the mountains. The hall grew into a legendary stronghold, famed for its wealth and craftsmanship.
Fall of Mithral Hall
In 1356 DR, the stronghold was overrun by a shadow dragon, later revealed to be Shimmergloom, along with duergar and other Underdark forces. The dwarves were forced to abandon their ancestral home, which remained lost for decades.
Reclamation
In 1370 DR, Bruenor Battlehammer, alongside companions including Drizzt Do’Urden, led a successful campaign to reclaim Mithral Hall. After fierce battles against duergar and drow forces, the hall was restored to dwarven control.
