Originally founded by the Shield Dwarves of clan Battlehammer, Mithral Hall was lost for centuries before being reclaimed in the 14th century DR. Since its restoration, it has once again become a centre of dwarven power, trade, and military strength in the North.

History

Founding and Early Days

Mithral Hall was founded in ancient times by the Battlehammer clan, who discovered vast veins of mithral within the mountains. The hall grew into a legendary stronghold, famed for its wealth and craftsmanship.

Fall of Mithral Hall

In 1356 DR, the stronghold was overrun by a shadow dragon, later revealed to be Shimmergloom, along with duergar and other Underdark forces. The dwarves were forced to abandon their ancestral home, which remained lost for decades.

Reclamation

In 1370 DR, Bruenor Battlehammer, alongside companions including Drizzt Do’Urden, led a successful campaign to reclaim Mithral Hall. After fierce battles against duergar and drow forces, the hall was restored to dwarven control.
