Summary
After the chaos of recent weeks, the group attempts to mend the rift between Jimmy Prye and Chasey Lane. What begins as a well-meaning plan for reconciliation quickly spirals into arguments, romance, and a public altercation that lands several students back in the Head Teacher’s office. Meanwhile, a new student, Vith Pahlok, makes his presence loudly known — and manages to make several enemies before the day is over.
The Biblioplex Meeting
- The party meets Jimmy Pyre in the Biblioplex to discuss how he might make things right with Chaselienne "Chasey" Lain.
- After a fair amount of bickering, the group begins forming a plan to help Jimmy apologise properly.
- Their conversation is interrupted by Vith Pahlok, the new student, who butts in confidently, claiming he knows everything about wooing women.
- Vith begins bragging about his supposed fame and his father’s wealth — until Lyra swiftly cuts him down.
- She points out that she’s on the Neverwood Mage Tower Cheer Squad and has never once seen him play.
- Lyra also makes a point of noting her own family’s wealth, leaving Vith visibly deflated.
Secret Affairs and Side Quests
- While the others argue, H'er slips away to the artifact storage cupboard to make out with Elandra Stormwhisper.
- Glue, meanwhile, tries his luck flirting with the Head Librarian, Isabrough, eventually convincing her to meet him for dinner at Bow's End Tavern around 9 p.m.
Flowers for Forgiveness
- The group finally agrees on a plan — Jimmy should give Chasey flowers as part of his apology.
- They travel to Quandrix’s Cultivarium to find something suitable.
- Harry casts Detect Magic to ensure the flowers they pick are safe (and non-lethal).
- The party collects several bouquets — some for Jimmy, others for their own loved ones — and returns to the Biblioplex.
- Harry hands Jimmy his bouquet and offers some gentle advice on how to talk to women.
- Jimmy thanks him but grumbles in disappointment that the flowers aren’t carnivorous or capable of breathing fire.
The Confession Gone Wrong
- Chaselienne "Chasey" Lain enters the Biblioplex. Jimmy rushes to meet her, clutching his flowers and rehearsing his apology.
- Just as things begin to go well, Vith appears — and immediately charms Chasey in front of Jimmy, attempting to steal her away.
- The rest of the group rushes over to intervene, trying to escort Chasey and Jimmy away before things escalate.
- A fight breaks out in the middle of the Biblioplex.
- Professor Osgir, the Reconstructor arrives swiftly, breaks up the altercation, and drags everyone involved to the Head Teacher’s Office.
The Head Teacher’s Office
- Head Teacher Taiva Loreweaver questions the group about both the fight and the earlier break-in to the student records room.
- Vigilius, previously interrogated by Professor Sharpbeak and Deputy Head Ricard Ruanad, insists his story — that everyone was involved — is the truth.
- Cyinth counters, claiming that only she and Vigilius were responsible. The rest of the group deny all involvement.
- Taiva pushes for confessions but no one cracks.
- Given Vigilius’ existing academic probation and Cyinth’s extensive disciplinary record — damage to school property, forge facilities, possession of contraband, and general insubordination — Taiva passes judgement:
- Vigilius receives an additional tenday of probation.
- Cyinth is suspended for three tendays.
Consequences
- The Head Teacher dismisses all students except H’er and Vith.
- Lyra remains behind long enough to argue passionately about the unfairness of the punishments but gets nowhere.
- Vith is sternly reprimanded for his conduct since arriving on campus — he is banned from the next Mage Tower game and given three tendays of detention.
- H’er receives a quieter warning about her “public displays of affection.” Embarrassed, she blushes and leaves quickly.
- The party returns to their dorms — some to wallow, some to reflect, and others to begin packing for the long suspension ahead.
Ongoing Threads
- Chasey & Jimmy’s Relationship – Though the apology didn’t go to plan, the spark between them may yet survive — if Vith keeps out of it.
- Vith’s Behaviour – His arrogance and interference have already made him enemies and earned the Head Teacher’s attention.
- Cyinth’s Suspension – With three tendays away from campus, what will she get up to — and will she even come back?
- Vigilius’ Probation – Another tenday added to his record puts him one step closer to expulsion.
- H’er & Elandra’s Secret – Their relationship is now on the staff’s radar — can they keep it quiet next time?
- Glue & Isabrough’s Dinner Date – The librarian actually said yes. What could possibly go wrong?
