Description

The Dragonchess Club is dedicated to the mastery of Dragonchess, a complex and multilayered strategy game that tests intellect, foresight, and adaptability. Played across multiple boards or planes, the game requires players to think several moves ahead while accounting for shifting conditions and magical interference.
Club meetings often involve both casual play and intense competitive matches, with members analysing past games, developing strategies, and debating optimal approaches. Illusory boards and animated pieces are frequently used, bringing matches to life in dramatic fashion.
For some, Dragonchess is a pastime; for others, it is a discipline bordering on obsession. The Club has produced some of the Academy’s most formidable strategic minds.

Membership

Students may join the Dragonchess Club by signing up during the Freshers Fair or at any time upon request.
Players of all skill levels are welcome, with experienced members often mentoring newcomers in the rules and strategies of the game. Regular internal tournaments provide opportunities for progression, while top players may go on to represent the Academy in intercollegiate competitions.
Dedication and patience are highly valued, as mastery of Dragonchess is considered a long-term pursuit.
