Founding & Early History (1501 DR)

GRIFFT was founded in 1501 DR by [[Alex Fallowridge]], a daring entrepreneur and avid gryphon enthusiast who grew up on the trade routes around Neverwinter. Inspired by tales of griffin-mounted messengers and airborne adventurers, Alex sought to create a new kind of transport service: fast, reliable, and airborne.
Using personal savings, a few contacts in Neverwinter’s stable and mage circles, and a small magical subsidy from a local guild, Alex acquired a handful of trained griffins and began offering rides to merchants, nobles, and curious citizens. The service quickly gained attention for its novelty, efficiency, and sheer thrill factor.

Early Operations & Growth (1502–1508 DR)

By 1508 DR, GRIFFT had grown into a small but dependable fleet, servicing Neverwinter and nearby settlements. While still modest in scale, the company had developed:

• Standardised routes connecting key districts of Neverwinter
• Safety protocols for riders and griffins
• A booking and scheduling system that allowed clients to summon a griffin for personal or commercial transport
  The company retained its playful branding, with griffins painted in gold-and-scarlet harnesses, and banners emblazoned with the motto: “Why Walk? We’ll GRIFFT You There.”

Alex Fallowridge has made it clear that the company aims to remain practical rather than extravagant.
